Role

Concept, Design & Production

The future of interaction.

With the whole world about to discover ChatGPT in 2022, we set out to explore the possibilities of AI combined with XR, and sketch out a new vision for how we could interact with computers and each other.

Agents is a short film that suggests a fresh, intuitive mental model for spatial computing. It imagines that all of our apps and button based interfaces have evolved into animate spirits, from personal assistants, to dating agents and local guides that haunt real world locations.

Maya, writer & hobbyist Agent Developer, is frustrated by a problem with her latest creation ‘Glitchy’. She walks to a nearby cafe where a dating agent  connects her with Jonathan. As Maya & Jonathan chat, it becomes clear that they have very different preferences around interacting with agents.

An agent made by Maya, that can take any children’s story, and turn it into a 3D scene. Doesn’t speak much. Unstable.

An advanced Agent that claims to be able to do everything. Highly analytical and precise.

Using their many tentacles they can help wrangle lots of different nodes during visual coding tasks.

An agent ecosystem.

In the film, agents can be made by anyone. They are designed to fulfil a huge range of functions, from big and important tasks to silly and entertaining ones. They come in a huge variety of styles and sizes, and may even change their shape depending on their current task.

You can curate your circle of trusted agents, an ecosystem where many heads are better than one. But all of that may be about to change, as a new agent is in town...
